Verdis e-Residency updates

As of now, the e-Residency program of the Free Republic of Verdis has opened in a beta stage. This means that while applications are open, not all features might be available yet.

What is e-Residency?
Obtaining e-Residency in Verdis will allow you to register a Verdisian business and use the digital infrastructure provided to manage it. The concept was pioneered by the North-Eastern European country of Estonia, where it was launched in 2014. It is a perfect solution for online businesses and allows a lot of flexibility for location-independent workers, also called ‘digital nomads’. However, an e-Resident card does not confer any travel benefits and does not count as a residence permit.

Other benefits that e-Residents of Verdis can take advantage of include networking with other e-Residents and Verdisian citizens, attend exclusive events and potentially qualify for citizenship at a later date (minimum one year while meeting other criteria). The application fee for e-Residency is currently 100€, which might increase at a future date. The citizenship application fee for e-Residents is currently 300€.

The official website for e-Residency run by the Verdisian government can be found here.

After recent email communication with the government authorities of the Free Republic of Verdis I requested a photo sample of the e-Residency card, which has a similar layout to the Verdis national ID. They were nice enough to send me one shortly after, which can be found below.
As soon as more information becomes available regarding the program, we will make sure to update you in a new article.
