One week ago today, on October 12, 2023 Croatian police officers illegally entered into the territory of Verdis – an area that has never been claimed by neighbouring Croatia (or Serbia, for that matter).
Over the course of this invasion, the Croatian authorities have detained multiple settlers and coerced them to board a boat. They were subsequently issued a warning to leave Croatia within 7 days or risk deportation.
The opinion of the editor is that this violation of international law constitutes a clear overreach of the Croatian authorities and should be condemned.

The Verdis News editorial team would like to call on all supporters of Verdis to #StandWithVerdis and keep the Free Republic free from foreign interference. We hope that in the future, the Croatian authorities can adjust their stance and build friendly relations with the government and people of Verdis instead of attempting to stop them from inhabiting the nations territory.
