The Free Republic of Verdis has announced the release and production of new identity cards, updating the design and security features from the previous version introduced in 2022. The new cards, which will not be biometric, incorporate an MRZ code and enhanced security elements such as wavy holograms and a UV dull square. While the old design cards remain valid until their expiry, citizens can apply for the new ones through the myGov portal. This initiative is part of broader efforts to update Verdis’ identification documents, including passports planned for later this year. For more details, you can visit the original article here.
The new design of the Free Republic of Verdis identity card can be viewed below. It features the individual’s personal details, such as surname, given name, place and date of birth, gender, and nationality, along with the card’s expiry date. The card number is prominently displayed and there is space for a signature. Visible security features include a wavy hologram and UV-sensitive elements over the coat of arms. The card also has multilingual descriptions for each field, featuring English, Croatian (Latinica) and Serbian (Cyrillic) text.
