On Monday, 26th of June 2023 the Verdisian government announced the creation of the Verdis Red Cross, a humanitarian organization under the banner of the international Red Cross and Red Crescent movement. In forming the Verdis Red Cross, the existing organization ‘DIY Ukraine’ will be integrated into it and continue to deliver humanitarian aid to Ukraine under the new banner. The groups Facebook page has been used to document previous relief shipments of this organization. In the announcement, it is further clarified that all work will be done on a voluntary, not-for-profit basis without paying any salaries. Any donations will be entirely directed towards equipment, logistics and supplies – the allocation of which will be fully transparent to the public to ensure accountability.
We will make sure to report on updates regarding projects and aid deliveries of the newly established Verdis Red Cross as time goes on.
